2020 Annual Ornament
The League of New Hampshire Craftsmen’s 2020 Annual Ornament, Midnight Clear, was designed, hand formed and cast in pewter by Ken Kantro of Biddeford, ME. His design was inspired by the majesty of New Hampshire’s mountains, and by the quiet wonder of its starry winter nights. Ken Kantro is celebrated as having created Dove, the first ornament in the League’s Annual Ornament Collection in 1988.
Every year our juried members vie for the honor of creating the League’s Annual Ornament. They submit their work and a selection is made by a specially chosen committee. This tradition began in 1988, and the Annual Ornament has become a must-have holiday treasure. This is the League’s 33rd Annual Ornament.
Each ornament is numbered as one of a limited edition, signed and numbered by the artist, and comes beautifully gift-boxed.
Maker info: In the early 1970’s Ken Kantro's interest in Asian art and philosophy led him to an apprenticeship in pottery utilizing traditional Japanese techniques. As he worked with combinations of clay and metal, he was fascinated with the light reflecting qualities of metal and its creative potential. He went on to study and master the techniques of early American pewter design and fabrication. For over 30 years he has designed a popular collection of nature inspired jewelry and ornaments under the name Lovell Designs
